General description:   This course introduces automata theory, formal languages and computability. Topics include: finite automata, regular expressions, context-free and context-sensitive languages, Turing machines, recursive functions, recursive and recursively-enumerable sets, and unsolvable and intractable problems.

Important Notices: Please, check course web site periodically for updates. To view ps documents, you can download Aladdin Ghostview or another free viewer. For operating system like Linux, the viewers are included into the distribution (everything is free and very reliable - for pdf files, use gv or acroread, rather than xpdf).
